Tower Internals is a Sub Module of the Tower Module within the Aerodynamic & Mechanical area in Vestas Power Solutions (Vestas R&D). Vestas Power Solution is a business unit where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, maintained and tested. Vestas Power Solutions operates on a global scale with more than 1,300 employees.
Power Solutions, Tower module is the technology department responsible for the design and innovation of Vestas Towers. The Tower organization is 100+ efficient responsible for the design, development, industrialization and lifecycle support of tower products.
We are a team of diverse people with different technical competencies, educational backgrounds and personal traits. We are very open-minded and encourage a go-do-approach.
Responsibilities :Identification and requirements specification for the Tower Internals Building BlocksDesign new solutions from early conceptualization to final detail designOptimization of the solutions through FEA assessment and structural calculationVerification of the new solutions performing Fit, Form and Function tests in our wind Turbine Tower prototypesCoordinate suppliers and co-develop new Building Blocks through Technical Purchase SpecificationsLead technical work-packages ensuring safety, quality, time and cost expectations
Qualifications :Bachelor or Master´s degree in Mechanical, Structural, Industrial or Aeronautical EngineeringMinimum professional experience: 5 years in new product development within the wind industry or similarProven experience in delivering technical work-packages and design through suppliersProven experience with systems engineering or design for six sigma methodologiesMechanical design and BoM creation using CAD tools, like CREOStructural analysis using FEA tools, like Ansys
Competencies :Ability to coordinate and handle suppliersGreat interpersonal skills and ability to interact with multi-cultural and diverse teams all around the globeCustomer-focused and solution-orientedProven ability to work both with limited supervision and in teams in an environment with tight deadlinesOpen-minded and good at sharing and gathering information within a team to bridge the gap between design and value chainGood communication skills in English, both written and verbalAbility to plan, scope and organize work package executionSelf-motivated and target focused - Innovative and enthusiastic with good attention to detail and willingness to take ownership to meet expectations
